I am Amanda Hope and I have been supporting clients in Glasgow for many years, based at GP surgeries, Complementary Health Clinics, hospitals and the BBC. I have also been involved with a number of pioneering health projects, including Gartnavel Hospital’s complementary health team, supporting patients with cancer. I am presently involved in providing therapy to patients with melanoma and their families, through the charity MASScot.
My hypnotherapy sessions are relaxed, friendly and supportive, and we work together to identify approaches to enable each person to access their own inner resources. It is a real privilege to share in a person’s growth and see them bring their lives back into balance, and live life to the full.
I also have experience and training in counselling support, so I can provide clients with a wide range of techniques, tailored to their individual needs. As a former Childline counsellor, with a background working with children’s charities, I welcome both adults and young people for hypnotherapy sessions, and see children as young as seven. For more information about hypnotherapy and how it can help children and young people please click here.
My hypnotherapy studies were with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis, an international organisation, and the only hypnotherapy training course in Europe with University accreditation. I am a full member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH), who require their members to adhere to a strict code of ethics and practice, including confidentiality.
The professional body I belong to requires that I update my training by regularly attending Masterclasses in specialised areas and techniques. Where appropriate, I include other therapeutic techniques as part of my sessions, including EFT and EMDR. I also practice Reiki and I am presently studying to become a Kinesiologist. You can find out more information on these therapies by clicking here.
I have completed certificates in counselling skills with the CPCAB, theoretical training with the Institute of Counselling and Childline counselling training courses, which means that I can offer qualified support during our session.
I am also a fully qualified Fertile Body Method Practitioner, after having completed further training in this holistic approach to enhancing fertility and working therapeutically with fertility problems. Find out more at the Fertility page.
In addition to many years of working with cancer support, I have completed specialist training with the LCCH as well as Cancer Support Scotland. Click here for more information.
Mindfulness is another area which I often incorporate into therapeutic sessions, using information and techniques which I have adapted after attending the Mindfulness Course run by the Centre for Integrative Medicine at Gartnavel Hospital.
You can either call or use my contact form to make an enquiry or an appointment and you will find me at The Consulting Rooms in Glasgow city centre, beside Queen Street Station. Why not have a look around the Consulting Rooms. I look forward to seeing you there.
