I am Amanda Hope and I have been supporting clients in Glasgow for many years, based at GP surgeries, Complementary Health Clinics, Gartnavel Hospital and the BBC. I have also been working with cancer patients and charities since qualifying in 2005. I still work with a Scottish charity and my private practice is now shared between Glasgow city centre and the coastal town of Largs in North Ayrshire.
My hypnotherapy sessions are relaxed, friendly and supportive, and we work together to identify approaches to enable each person to access their own inner resources. It is a real privilege to share in a person’s growth and see them bring their lives back in to balance and live life to the full.
As well as many years’ experience, I have completed specialist training with Cancer Support Scotland and the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. I presently provide therapy to patients and their families with melanoma and other skin cancers through Melanoma Action and Support Scotland (MASScot). You can find out more on the hypnotherapy and cancer page.
I am also a fully qualified Fertile Body Method Practitioner, providing a holistic approach to enhancing fertility through hypnotherapy and working therapeutically with fertility problems. There is lots of information about how we think hypnotherapy can affect Fertility here.
As a former Childline counsellor and member of Barnardos’ and other child focused organisations, I enjoy working with children and teenagers, supporting children as young as seven. Read about the gentle form of hypnotherapy used with young people.
I studied hypnotherapy with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis and I am a full member of my professional body, the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, who require their members to adhere to a strict code of ethics and practice, including confidentiality. Members also need to maintain regular Continuing Professional Development and Supervision. I am also registered with the ICO to protect your personal information.
In order to provide the best possible support to clients I have also studied EMDR through the London College of Clinical Hypnosis, as well as Mindfulness and EFT. You can read about my other interests and studies here.
In addition to many years of working with cancer support, I have completed specialist training with the LCCH as well as Cancer Support Scotland. Click here for more information.
I have completed foundation counselling certificates with CPCAB and the Institute of Counselling as well as counselling training for young people with Childline. These support my work in clinical hypnosis, although I am not a Counsellor.
If you have any questions or would like to arrange an appointment you can either call, email me or use the contact form.
